Our client, a global specialty food ingredients producer, is looking for a Junior Application Technologist to join their UK site. As a part of a close-knit team, the candidate will work on reactive and proactive projects, with a focus on nutrition applications for products such as protein shakes, aminos, pre-workouts, weight management, gaming, energy drinks and protein RTDs. The role involves developing nutrition formulations and working on customer recipes while supporting our client's ingredient portfolio to ensure the best solutions are in line with their customer's needs, considering both technical and commercial constraints.

This is an exceptional opportunity for a new graduate or someone with 1-2 years industry experience who is passionate about human nutrition. The role offers great support facilities, personal development, and a career path to move into an Application Technologist. With occasional travel to customer sites, the candidate will have a curious mindset to continuously learn and develop industry-leading ways of working and product applications. This is a full-time role on-site, reporting to a Senior Application Technologist.

Qualifications:

• Degree in Food Science / Science, or related subject

• Some experience working within the food / beverage industry or in the ingredients sector, ideally within the nutrition category with an understanding of the basics of how nutrition products are formulated.

• Keen attention to detail and an effective communicator.

• Ability to prioritise effectively, while working on multiple projects, often with short deadlines

• Creative mindset, looking for opportunities for continuous improvement.

• Passionate about food, and in particular nutrition.

• Experienced in tasting nutrition products and understanding the taste challenges.

• Legal right to work in the UK.
